I prefer American accent too because it's more common &I think when you're speaking with American accent most of people who know English less can understand it better but British accent is uncomfortable for that groups of people.

Well, to be honest, American accent is EASIER.[nb]I tried imitating British accent once and the result was disastrous [/nb] but British accent(s) and Scottish accent are much more beautiful. I also prefer British terms and phrases and slang over American ones.
