I tend to be very optimistic about the future. Life may not turn out as I expect, but in the end, there will surely be things worth living for.
as a side note: the world is becoming a generally better place. this may not be the case for our country but overall, the world is getting safer, the average income is increasing worldwide, and more humans have access to healthy food than any other time in the history. throughout the history of the humankind, there has been no other point where the humans didn't have to spend the vast majority of their time thinking about how they would provide enough food for their family so that they would survive.
there are, of course, still many challenges to overcome. but at least for the first time, we are not helpless against nature. that speaks a lot about how far we have come and how far we can go in the future.
