look listen and learn was old but this book was one of the most famous books in English field
and I should mention that, this book's writer Louis George Alexander (L. G. Alexander) was great writer in this field and he wrote a lots of books including Longman English Grammar.​

Am I the only one who thinks we should pay more attention to American English rather than British one? Cambridge can be nice, only if students show a little ambition in learning the whole point! It's totally waste of time if they don't...even if you have the best English book in your hands​

but I think Cambridge books are great! I love it's readings. and it's vocab is really useful. in addition the subjects are unique in comparison to other English books. like "optical illusion" or it's readings about slavery and continents, like Discover India, South Africa or America

about paying more attention to American English rather than British: I don't think so! I prefer British, but no idea that which is more useful...maybe you're right​

Technically, There's not visible difference specially in the level that we see in the schools. But having a british book, brings the british accent and intonation with it which I'm sure you know American Accent is way more beautiful and recognizable. Cambridge is a good book, but I have to admit there's none (maybe 2-3) at least in our school that gives a damn about the whole English ​

English accent is totally funny. It's like they (British people) have Tongue tie and you know what is funnier than that, Scottish accent , (Irish is better)
but i think British accent is easy to understand for people who start to learning ENG

Hmm, you're right, there is just a little difference in grammar and recognizing British is a bit hard, but I love British accent it's somehow stately!!!

honestly, I can say that I learned English more in my junior high school than senior high school. our books were Cambridge too, but we used to discuss about all the readings, even listening...so, it was more beneficial...

Agreed! And although these two seem alike, The difference can cause problem. One of my British friends once had a 30 min. arguement with me just because when I said 'Week" (I have an ultimate northern-center American accent) and the pronunciation was a little bit different from British version and she couldn't understand what I was reffering to​

It's kinda heavy...the British accent I mean! I prefer more rolling accents...like American ​
