British:motorcycle
American:motorbike
And there's another type of bicycle that is called "motorized bicycle."So this word might be old-fashioned or wrong.

In this case only were is correct.
One of the students who were having the exam fainted.
in this sentence One of the students who were having the exam is a noun clause.
was can't be used because the punctuation marks are not proper.
You should use was when the sentence is like this:
One of the students, who was having the exam, fainted.
Here,One of the students is a noun clause & who was having the exam is an extra information about the noun clause(noun complement.)So The punctuation marks are really important.

i think our dude has forgotten to put the puncts! cuz if u say one of the student who were having the exam fainted, it's like to say one of the guys who were having the wall painted(for exmp.)there are 2 problems here:
1.the sentence is imcompelete
2.the wall can be painted but the exam cant be fainted(the meaning is nonsense)
so as i guess WAS is better.

Nope,ur example is not the same as that sentence.
in the sentence that Pegah mentioned, there are 2 interpretations.
The act of fainting can relate to one of the students or the students who were having the exam.(having the exam in this sentence means taking exam.)
So,if the act of fainting relates to one of the students,You must use was & two commas between noun clause complement. And if the act of fainting relates to the students who were having the exam, you must use were.
your example, actually,is not a complete sentence.it's a dependent clause. The meanings of the word "have" are different.

and another Question :
Hi there.
After some verbs we can use these words in a form of a sentence not a question.
Well,I guess some examples may help you:
I wonder why it is raining!
I don't know why it is raining.
I'm not sure why it doesn't work.
As you can see in the examples,To be verbs can't come exactly after these words.
First the subject comes then the to be verbs.

it is not important where you are.

The second one is correct.

i think narges is right!
becuz as she said before this sentence (without any punctuation) means some students were having exame and one of them fainted so if we look at the blank carefully we'll see the verb should be related to students so we use WERE but if the sentence was like this : one the students , who ....having exame , fainted
we use "," to give extra information so the part who ... having exame is giving information about the student that is fainted so as it's clear becuz we are talking about one student we should use WAS!

These kinds of sentences are actually informal & grammatically incorrect.
They are just used in everyday conversations & the meaning changes from one sentence to another.
As I said there is no special meaning for them,& u have to understand from the previous sentences.
If the speaker is talking about present this sentence means"You are saving him."
If the speaker is talking about past this sentence means"You were saving him."
And sometimes it's a kind of question.for example:"you saving him?" means "Are you saving him?"
& it may have other meanings according to the previous sentences or the situation.

After "how come" you must use a subject.Because in fact,"how come"is the short form of saying "how did it come about that"/"how is it that"/"how comes it".
And it's used instead of "WHY"in speaking or sometimes writing. For example :"How come I have to study English?"
Implication means "delalat, eejab, mostalzem boodan, mafhoom"in persian languange.Ang the meaning might be different in every sentence.
Good luck.

Have you ever heard E.T , Katy Perry's song? It's a famous song. In the first part she says ," You're so hypnotizing , Could you be th Devil, Could you be an angel..."
Is it a question? The structure is like questions, but it seems to be a statement.
What do you think?

You know, when they want to say something that's amazing or surprising, they use it this way. for example: "Are you lucky!" it means you are so lucky and I'm surprised 'cause your luck.

They are questions and there's a question mark after each one.
And yep some questions show surprise or confusion.
