Hey guys. I was just reading an article about the Bruce Willis Biography just recently and I headed towards a sentence that I had problem with translating it.
Hop yo guys can solve the problem for me.
This is the sentence:
"Motion pictures featuring Willis have grossed US$2.64 billion to 3.05 billion at North American box offices, making him the ninth highest-grossing actor in a leading role"
The serious problem is the word "Gross"
Thanx

Is the punctuation of the first sentence correct? Because it doesn't seem to be meaningful
Anyways the translation of the second sentence:
در ۲۳ فوریه ۲۰۰۳ او که قرار بود مهمان برنامه باشد, جای دیوید لترمن را که مریض بود در برنامه اش پر کرد.

Edit:
The punctuation is incorrect
It should be:
In 2007, he appeared in the Planet Terror , half of the double feature Grindhouse , as the villain, a mutant soldier
(mind the commas in bold)l
در سال ۲۰۰۷ او در یکی از دو بخش فیلم Grindhouse یعنی Planet Terror به عنوان شخصیت بد داستان, یک سرباز جهش یافته, حضور پیدا کرد.

The crimes usually take place in various parts of England , although in " The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax " Watson travels to switzerland and France in search of clues . But wherever Holmes and Watson go, they take them their strange turn-of-the-century Englishness and their rather dark suspicions of all things "foreign"
I can't understand red part of the text ~X(

First of all I think it is "take with them"
"turn-of-the-century Englishness" means the way English people were at the time of transition between the 19th and the 20th century.
So the sentence means that wherever they went, they had this quality with them, and they were suspicious of everything that was foreign(not English)

tell about" would you mind...?" please . how do we use it with two part verbs ?

به نقل از کوییــ ـ ـن :
tell about" would you mind...?" please . how do we use it with two part verbs ?
"Would you mind ...? " is a polite way of requesting something. It is used with a gerund(i.e. base form + ing), for example: Would you mind telling me where the papers are?
Two part verbs, as you know, are composed of a verb and another element(occasionally two) for example (verbs in
bold) bring about, call off, dream up, etc.
To use "Would you mind...?" with these verbs you must use the gerund of the verb and not change the other part(s) for example:
Would you mind calling off the meeting?
Would you mind standing up?
Would you mind putting these away?
...

As he said, some verbs are followed only by gerunds.
Rememeber you can use a possessive pronoun (or noun ) before a gerund :
Would you mind my asking ?

The first one:
The're both correct, but they are different in their meanings.

The second one:
They're both wrong!
I have to teach him a lesson.
or
I have to teach him his lesson.
