I disagree! I think when someone thinks in English he or she does not use extended vocabulary, only simple words

it depends on person ..and thinking !
if u want to do it for ur english , u try to use new structures .

I do, and it's become some sort of a habit for me. I can't stop it

well I started to think in English the first time I was really depressed and after a while I was addicted! I speak and think in English in front of a mirror or I write them in my notebook . I think it's really interesting because when \I get a look at them after a while I find funny grammar or spelling mistakes!
it also helps me to gain skills in writing.

one of my English teachers -who is really good in native like speaking- sometimes even start talking to himself while he is walking on a street!!!!
by his influence I started thinking in English and also writing diary as well
that was really helpfull but amazingly after a while I realized that everybody speaks English in my dreams!!!!!!! I think that it is a good sign, isn't it?

When Speaking English you either think in persian ,translate it to English and then say it aloud( which takes a lot of time ,plus the translation is not always correct ) Or think and speak in English....
Thinking in English and talking to yourself helps you speak the second way​

I started thinking in English and also writing diary as well

you just pointed out an incredibly effective way in order to improve one's english skills.
the more you use a skill, the better u get at it. although if the field U R using it, is something that is really interesting for you, it will even help you more!
as well as thinking in english, writing diary in english is a perfect way to help you improve your english
I used to do it myself...when I had enough time, and it really really helped me

Now he live in America
He said that:at first when I left Iran I thought in Persian but now some times I write numbers in Persian :)
During30years he write numbers of persian
But when I'm in mood I think in English

I think in persian but always write in english , and also SPk engish with myself!
It's so hard way to keep my English notes safe from B'ing read by my mother!
Cuz s.th she think that they are her notes that she had lost!
Cuz she's like me and writes her notes in English!
